The Roundstone Insurance Headquarters is a purpose built corporate office for one of Northeast Ohio’s fastest growing insurance innovators, located in Rocky River, Ohio. After more than twenty years of growth and multiple relocations, Roundstone commissioned a custom facility to support its expanding workforce and collaborative culture while anchoring its long term presence in the region.
Designed by Vocon, the three story headquarters provides approximately 56,700 sq ft of office space alongside an integrated 17,000 sq ft parking structure with future flexibility for expansion. The design and construction team achieved an accelerated timeline — from groundbreaking in mid 2023 to completion and move in by late 2024 — through careful coordination of structural, enclosure, and interior work.
Architecturally, the building balances contextual sensitivity with contemporary corporate identity. Drawing inspiration from Roundstone’s name and Irish heritage, material choices and detailing reflect a modern reinterpretation of traditional masonry and warehouse typologies, with large window assemblies that maximize natural light and express workplace transparency. Interior spaces are organized around an open circulation core, highlighted by a dramatic three story staircase that visually connects all floors and encourages informal interaction.
Workplace design emphasizes flexibility, wellness, and community: strategically placed outdoor terraces on every floor, collaborative work zones, abundant daylighting, and unique amenities such as multiple staff cafés, terraced outdoor patios, and a dedicated employee gym underscore Roundstone’s investment in organizational culture and employee well being.
The headquarters also accommodates future growth, with provisions to convert parts of the integrated parking level into additional office space if needed. This foresight aligns with Roundstone’s projected expansion and underscores the building’s role as a long term strategic asset.
Overall, the project reflects a collaborative design and delivery process among the owner, architect, and construction manager, delivering a highly tailored, contextually grounded headquarters that reinforces Roundstone’s brand identity and supports organizational momentum.
